LAP SWIM
A Low-Impact, yet effective full body workout for all levels and ages
Lap swimming is a low-impact exercise that also packs a punch. Swimming is highly effective in working the cardiovascular and muscular systems and can improve endurance, strength, coordination, and mobility.
Because of the buoyancy effect that water has on the body and the numerous ranges of motion needed for different strokes, swimming can also help ease stiff joints, relax sore muscles, and reduce pain and fatigue.
Lap Swim Schedules
Lap swim schedule is subject to change periodically. Please check here or at the Welcome Center for the most current version.
Changes for each upcoming weekend will post Friday mornings on the website and at the Welcome Center.
Lap Swim Rules + EtIQUETte
Lap swim sessions are open to members 12 and over. A deep water test is required for members under 16.
Swim aids such as kick boards, fins, and hand paddles are permitted.
Before entering, check lane speed signs to select the proper lane in which to swim. Lanes are labeled fast, medium, and slow.
Enter the lanes only from the ends of the pool.
If a lane is being shared by TWO people, a split-lane back-and-forth pattern is permitted. Please remain in your half of the lane.
If a lane is being shared by THREE OR MORE people, a circle swim pattern must be used. Keep to the right, and swim in a counter-clockwise direction. Do not stop mid-lane.
Swimmers may not block another swimmer from sharing their lane. Using circle swim, each lane may accommodate up to FIVE swimmers.
To pass at the end of a lane, signal the swimmer in front of you by touching their foot.
Slower swimmers should yield to faster swimmers at the end of the lane.
Stay to one side when resting at the end of the pool.
